SUNDAY AMATEURS BY TOTTI

TURNING POINT SCOTLAND TROPHY

LOREBURN THISTLE v MOFFAT THISTLE 2010

On paper Loreburn should start this game as hot favourites; they are in good form in the Premier Division and will be fired up for a trophy tilt. But Moffat are also in a rich vein of form and will be hoping their underdog status will allow them the element of surprise, knowing they can certainly give Thistle a match. Prediction: Could go all the way to penalties.

PREMIER DIVISION

BALMORAL v PALMERSTON COLTS

Both these clubs know they are in danger of slipping into the relegation battle and will be approaching this as a six pointer. Balmoral will be hurting after a couple of seasons of mediocrity by their high standards and will be desperate to avoid the ignominy of a relegation scrap. Palmerston had hoped to make more of an impact on the top division but will hope they can preserve their status and prepare for another tilt next term. Prediction: Bombers to edge a tight encounter.

HOLE IN THE WA v JOLLY HARVESTER

Hole in the Wa have slipped to fourth in the table through inactivity and they will be looking to get back into action with a bang against struggling Jolly. The Jolly know they are in danger of becoming embroiled in a relegation dogfight so will be scrapping for every point they can garner, and they could prove a tricky obstacle for any team on their day. Prediction: The Wa should be too strong.

NORMANDY STAR v BRUCE ARMS

Normandy know every game from now on is a must win if they are to keep the pressure on Scaur at the top of the table, so they cannot afford to take the foot off the peddle. The Bruce are fighting for survival and as the reality of their situation dawns they are sure to come out like a wounded animal. Prediction: Hard to see past a Normandy win.

FIRST DIVISION

ANNAN TOWN v BLACK BULL

Black Bull lifted themselves into second last weekend and have their sights set on top spot. Annan still harbour hopes of promotion, but this match will test their credentials and anything less than a win may just seal their fate. Prediction: Could end all square.

DUMFRIES ATHLETIC v KINGS ARMS

High flying Kings Arms look to be shoo-ins for the First Division title and they will be expected to take full points from rock bottom Dumfries. Struggling Athletic have not played in three months, but have been working to turn their desperate season around, though they will have to perform miracles to take anything here. Prediction: Kings to add to Dumfries woes.

NITHSIDE v BROONS

Nithside promotion hopes took a blow last weekend as they lost out to leaders Kings Arms and dropped to third, but they will be looking for nothing less than three points from this encounter. Broons look like the have little to play for other than pride this season, thought they will take heart from improved performances and feel they may be able to take a scalp or two before the end of the campaign. Prediction: Nithside to take the points.
