At the monthly management meeting last night Normandy Star were given back thier Premier Division status despite losing the playoff to the Jolly Harvester last season. Both Nithside (formerly the Last Post) and Moffat Thistle 2010 were offered the opportunity to move up but declined. The cup draws were also made and news of these will appear in a few days once all the details are known. Web pages for the new teams will be added once the contact details are passed on.

The annual general meeting was held on Monday the 13th June at the Morieg Hotel, Dumfries. The office bearers were all re-elected and there were no changes to rules etc. There were 3 new clubs admitted, Annan Town AFC, Black Bull AFC (Lockerbie) and The Kings Arms AFC (Lochmaben). All three new clubs will go into the First Division. There were no other name changes but The Last Post may change their name before the season kicks off. As per last year only the winner of the first division will automatically be promoted. A playoff for the second place will take place.
The Bruce Arms win the First Division title
The Bruce Arms lifted the First Division title after they defeated close rivals the Jolly Harvester in ntheir last game of the season.

The Famous Star win the Sunday Premier League Title
The Famous Star have lifted the Sunday League Peremier division title for the first time. Promoted last year as First Division Champs the side formerly names Uppers AFC have lifted the premier title with sveral games to spare.
Turning Point Challenge Trophy 2011
Hole In The Wa lifted the second trophy of the season when they defeated the Bruc Arms 4-3 in an exiting cup final on Friday night. The score was 1-1 at halftime but the 'Wa' took the initiative and ran out deserved winners.

New Strip for Hole In The Wa

Turning Point Scotland - Cheque Presentation
Mr. John Cannon of Turning Point Scotlad presented the sponsorship cheque for this seasons Challenge Cup to League Chairman Mr. R.Campbell recently, also in attendance was Vice Charman Mr. Lee Sterritt. The league committee would like to thank Turning Point for their continued support.

Match Secretary Graham Harkness is also the President of the SAFA and is certainly putting the hours in on behalf of Amateur Football in Scotland. He recently attended a dinner held by the Lothian and Edinburgh League representing the SAFA. The picture of the top table below was taken before the meal.

Scottish Amateur Trophy draw was completed.1st round ties to be played on the 19th September 2010.
The Hole In The Wa are the only team to recieve a home draw and play Belhaven Carluke at the Holm Park, our other two representatives in the first round have away ties, Balmoral travel to North Ayrshire to play Bowery Bay and Dumfries Athleic don't have far to go as they have drawn the Crown Hotel of Stewartry.

Dumfires Sunday League Match Secretary and long time league official Graham Harkness was elected as President of the Scottish Amateur Football Association at the SAFA AGM held on Saturday 12th June 2010. This is a great reward for all the hard work Graham has put in over the years and is a first for any official from the SW of Scotland.
